SUPPLIES TO BRING:

TO BE FAIR TO ALL STUDENTS, PLEASE COME TO CLASS PREPARED WITH YOUR MATERIALS/SUPPLIES. WE NO LONGER LOAN POWER CORDS, THREAD STANDS, HOOPS, FEET OR OTHER SUPPLIES FOR CLASS. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED-YOU WILL NEED TO AUDIT THE CLASS. WE CANNOT CATCH YOU UP FOR PARTS OF CLASS THAT YOU MISS WHILE TRYING TO GATHER SUPPLIES LAST MINUTE. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

  • Your embroidery machine and embroidery unit, and your thread stand in lid of machine
  • Embroidery foot W for your machine
  • 50 wt. sewing thread with 2 matching bobbins already wound (not embroidery thread)
  • Fresh needle size 75/11 (We recommend EBBR needle from Organ)
  • 7"x12" magnetic hoop or regular Babylock 8"x12" hoop is needed for this class
  • Fabric for your quilt sandwich, as measured below. It is necessary to have a lighter SOLID piece of fabric for the top, warm and natural batting, and a piece of fabric with light color solid or small print for the backing. Use a thread color that is darker than your fabric to easily connect patterns.
  • As seen in the diagram below, please cut all of your fabrics to these measurements. It is recommended that you serge around the edges of your quilt top for clean edges that are easy to see and measure. You will not have time or space in class to cut or prepare your quilt sandwich, so please do at home and be ready to start promptly at 1pm, as this is a full class.
  • Scissors to trim threads closely as we go along (We like "Snip Eze")
  • 120" tape measure with mm markings to measure our "quilt"
  • Pencil/pen and paper to write your measurements
  • Eyeglasses if needed to see close-up
