Sip N Serge Serger Bag Project 5/30/26


This month for Serger club, we will be using the project from April's Sip N Serge LIVE Broadcast and stitching it together as a group as a Serge-Along.  Great for gifting a bottle of wine, or make a larger one to hold your favorite plant, or jar candle with a holiday theme.  Learn several techniques in this class for making straps with the double fold binder, or stitching decorative cover and chain stitches on your pieces prior to assembly and more.  We will work together for a 2-2.5 hours, watching the how-to video and various demos,  and final completion of the project may need to be done as homework.

This project is a skill builder class and is NOT intended for those unfamiliar with threading their machine.

Supplies to Bring

TO BE FAIR TO ALL STUDENTS, PLEASE COME TO CLASS PREPARED WITH YOUR MATERIALS/SUPPLIES. WE NO LONGER LOAN POWER CORDS, THREAD STANDS, HOOPS, FEET OR OTHER SUPPLIES FOR CLASS. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED-YOU WILL NEED TO AUDIT THE CLASS. WE CANNOT CATCH YOU UP FOR PARTS OF CLASS THAT YOU MISS WHILE TRYING TO GATHER SUPPLIES LAST MINUTE. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

  •  Baby Lock  4 or 8 thread Serger (Model Victory and higher) with power cord/foot control
  •  Quick reference threading guide (AN ABSOLUTE MUST) (If you have the Applaud, bring the Creative coverstitch Quick reference threading guide AND your manual!)
  •  Needle pack of at least 5 of the ELx705CF needles that you use standard in your machine (size 90/14)
  •  Inspirational guide Serger Accessories and Attachments 3 Ring Binder (we will be working on page 55)
  •  FREE PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS PRINTED FOR YOUR USE FROM THE APRIL BROADCAST
  •  Overlock table 
  •  Standard Serger foot (has BL on it) 
  •  ALL of your screwdrivers (Black and RED!), cone holders, spool sponges, nets, wire threading tools, tweezers and parts/accessories that CAME with your serger (Please check front of your manual for ENTIRE list) You need EVERYTHING! TWEEZERS! Did I mention that? :)
  •  MORE SUPPLIES TO COME AS CLASS DAY APPROACHES
  •  4 cones of regular good quality serger thread 
  •  Marking pen and basic sewing scissors, Fray check (optional, but good to have if needed)

All supplies purchased for class (even ahead of class day) are eligible for a 10% class discount. Please mention it at the register for which class you are registered.
