Supplies to Bring

TO BE FAIR TO ALL STUDENTS, PLEASE COME TO CLASS PREPARED WITH YOUR MATERIALS/SUPPLIES. WE NO LONGER LOAN POWER CORDS, THREAD STANDS, HOOPS, FEET OR OTHER SUPPLIES FOR CLASS. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED-YOU WILL NEED TO AUDIT THE CLASS. WE CANNOT CATCH YOU UP FOR PARTS OF CLASS THAT YOU MISS WHILE TRYING TO GATHER SUPPLIES LAST MINUTE. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

• Compatible Baby Lock machine: Radiance or Solaris (with Upgrade 3), Altair 2 or Altair upgraded to 2, Meridian 2 or Meridian upgraded to 2 – in good working order.
• Embroidery unit + power cord (no foot control needed for this class).
• 272mm x 272mm hoop (if you have Solaris models).
• 240mm x 240mm hoop (if you have Altair/Meridian models).
• Two-thread spool stand that came with your machine (fits in the lid).
• Fabric to fit your hoop (at least 1" larger on all sides than outer hoop) – canvas, linen, denim, or twill works best to support stitches.  Cotton fabrics are ok with Fusible woven stabilizer attached to back of fabric in addition to Ultra Clean and Tear Stabilizer
• 1 layer of Ultra Clean and Tear Stabilizer – hooped WITH your fabric BEFORE class (fabric cannot be floated for this project).
• 3-function screwdriver (to tighten hoop if needed and adjust foot in class).
• Trimming scissors for cutting yarn.
• Yarn Couching Foot "Y".
• Yarn guide for Embroidery Couching (has "EC" engraved on the piece).
• Yarn threader (in small plastic bag – used to pull yarn through the hole in foot).
• 1 skein or ball of yarn in your favorite color or variegated (smooth, not nubby type) – recommended weight 5 oz. or 7 oz. (5 oz. used in sample).
• 1 large darning or tapestry needle with large eye (to pull yarn tails to the back side of hoop).
• 1 embroidery thread to match your yarn.
• 1 pre-wound bobbin with center pin OR bobbin you wound yourself with embroidery bobbin thread.
