IQ Designer Club Group Quilting with IQ 1/16/26


Come learn all about how to quilt using your machine's IQ Designer in this class. Learn how to use built-in fills and line properties to do custom quilting on your quilts, wall hangings, table toppers and more. Class applies to owners of the following machines with IQ Designer: Radiance, Solaris, Destiny, Altair, Meridian, Venture, Valiant, (Brother Model equivalents, also ok!) Not sure if your machine qualifies? Just ASK!

Supplies to Bring

TO BE FAIR TO ALL STUDENTS, PLEASE COME TO CLASS PREPARED WITH YOUR MATERIALS/SUPPLIES. WE NO LONGER LOAN POWER CORDS, THREAD STANDS, HOOPS, FEET OR OTHER SUPPLIES FOR CLASS. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED-YOU WILL NEED TO AUDIT THE CLASS. WE CANNOT CATCH YOU UP FOR PARTS OF CLASS THAT YOU MISS WHILE TRYING TO GATHER SUPPLIES LAST MINUTE. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

  • Embroidery machine with IQ Designer (Radiance, Solaris, Destiny, Altair, Meridian or similar Brother models with permission from instructor) with power cord and embroidery foot
  • Largest SQUARE hoop that came with your machine: 9.5 x 9.5 Hoop (240mm x 240mm), or 10" hoop (254mm x 254mm), or 10 5/8" x 10 5/8" hoop (272mm x 272mm)
  • Embroidery unit (required for this class)
  • Solid white fabric or tone-on-tone white fabric to fit your hoop (e.g., a fat quarter), ironed and pressed
  • Second fat quarter for backing of quilt, ironed and pressed
  • Piece of Warm and Natural batting to fit your hoop
  • Fabrics pressed and ready to go as a quilt sandwich
  • Embroidery thread in a dark color of choice (e.g., blue, red, purple)
  • Prewound bobbin and center pin if using L Style bobbin in white
  • Thread snips
  • Permanent pen for marking fabric or water-soluble marker
  • 6" x 12" quilt ruler
  • Mouse that will plug into your Solaris (and/or bring your stylus if you have Destiny/Altair type machines)
  • Baby Lock Mastering IQ Designer Education workbook (if you have one, not required)
  • Pen and pencil for taking notes

Instructor Bio: Michelle has a passion for Baby Lock and she has a passion for embroidery, quilting, bag making, home dec, garment construction and sharing her love of all things sewing with her students. She likes to think outside the pattern by creating her own special twists on things. She looks forward to meeting you!
