Supplies to Bring

TO BE FAIR TO ALL STUDENTS, PLEASE COME TO CLASS PREPARED WITH YOUR MATERIALS/SUPPLIES. WE NO LONGER LOAN POWER CORDS, THREAD STANDS, FEET OR OTHER SUPPLIES FOR CLASS. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED, YOU WILL NEED TO AUDIT THE CLASS. WE CANNOT CATCH YOU UP FOR PARTS OF CLASS THAT YOU MISS WHILE TRYING TO GATHER SUPPLIES LAST MINUTE. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

• Baby Lock APPLAUD, Triumph, Ovation, Euphoria model Serger with power cord/foot control
• PLEASE BRING NOTES FROM LAST MONTH'S PART ONE CLASS!!
•  Quick reference threading guide (AN ABSOLUTE MUST) (If you have the Applaud, bring the Creative coverstitch Quick reference threading guide AND your manual!)

• •  Needle pack of at least 5 of the ELx705CF needles that you use standard in your machine (size 90/14)
  •  Inspirational guide Serger Accessories and Attachments 3 Ring Binder (we will be working on page 55)
  •  REQUIRED:  15mm Double fold knit bias binder (Be sure you have THIS ONE! It must have the zig zag looking fence and MAY NOT HAVE been included with your foot kit if yours only has 22 instead of 29 feet. If you aren't sure, please contact us as we only have limited stock. Check out the video "Using the Knit Woven Double Fold Bias Binder on the Euphoria" class on your SewED to see what it looks like and the basics ahead of class if you desire.)
  •  Overlock table or Coverstitch table with Large White Head Screws (Applaud table is built in, so you don't need to bring extra. Screws still required however)
  •  Standard Serger foot (has BL on it) or Combination foot if you have the Applaud
  •  ALL of your screwdrivers (Black and RED!), cone holders, spool sponges, nets, wire threading tools, tweezers and parts/accessories that CAME with your serger (Please check front of your manual for ENTIRE list) You need EVERYTHING! TWEEZERS! Did I mention that? :)
  •  1 or 2 Fat Quarter Quilt sandwiches that you have run a 3 or 4 thread around the outside or basted so they are ready to bind like a real quilt. Please starch and press the sandwiches ahead of class time So they are ready to bind.
  • Also, please use page 55 of your binder and cut and sew together binding strips using the PLUS method and cut to 48mm wide (1 7/8")  Please test this width on your fabric ahead of class to be sure it works correctly.  Bring extra fabric in case you may need more for class.  Keep your strips FLAT and iron seams OPEN.  Please press and starch these so they are nice and firm. Please make sure you have enough binding to go around the quilt sandwiches you made plus at least 10" extra for each sandwich
  •  4 cones of regular good quality serger thread (not that fuzzy stuff!) two each the same color; (We will only use 2)
  •  A 6x12" ruler or 6"x24" ruler or similar size with Rotary cutter
  •  Marking pen, GLUE PEN (a MUST!) , Stilletto, seam ripper and basic sewing scissors required, Fray check (optional, but good to have if needed)  Might want to also have a straight pin to help you when folding the miter.
