Serger Club 11/1/24 - ENCORE Flatlock Pillow
Join us for this Club-style Class and learn more about your Baby Lock 4 thread or 8 thread serger (Victory and higher models). Different project or technique taught each month.
This month: Learn how to make a home dec Flatlock Pillow with two of your favorite fabrics and heavy thread.

This project is a skill builder class and is NOT intended for those unfamiliar with threading their machine.
MUST HAVE BABY LOCK AIR THREAD SERGER (VICTORY OR HIGHER ---MUST HAVE A, B, C, D DIAL ON RIGHT OF MACHINE)
Supplies to bring:
- Baby Lock Air Thread Serger (Victory and higher--must have ABCD dial on right side of machine) with power cord and foot control in good working order and clean.
- Your "overlock table" or "standard knife cover" (DO NOT bring your COVER TABLE, if you have an ovation or triumph as it is not needed)
- Brand new pack of serger needles 90/14, We carry Schmetz and Organ
- Your tools and accessories that came with your serger
- Your Quick Threading Guide that came with your serger
- Four Regular cones of serger thread to match or coordinate with your fabric Some areas this will be visible, some won't.
- One 8 Weight or 12 Weight Decorative Serger Thread to match your fabric (We have lots for you to choose from
- Standard serger foot
- Cording foot
- mini or regular wonderclips recommended
- Scissors for thread trimming
- Fabric Glue pen
- For Pillow Front: 5 qty 3" strips of good quality quilting fabric cut 3" wide x 15" long, with longest length being in selvage to selvage direction. I used 3 of one fabric and 2 of another. (See sample in store or photo above) Iron these well and spray with starch or ironing spray to firm them up a little bit.
- For Back: fabric cut to 14" square, iron well and spray to firm it up a bit. Please use good quality fabric or stabilize it with Shape flex or Fusible woven for stability if needed
- Quilt ruler in 16" square or larger if you have one, or you can use ours shared with the class
- Reader glasses if you need them to see well for fine detail work.
- 20-22"( or Longer )zipper to match your fabrics
- 14" pillow form if you want to stuff your pillow at the end of class ( We have these at the shop)
- INSPIRATION guide for your serger Model, if you have one OR: "Serger Accessories & Attachments Workbook" (NOT your Triumph Inspirational guide) for making notes on this technique page. (This is my favorite inspiration guide for your serger!)
Supplies listed ABOVE PLUS also basic sewing supplies like scissors, Fray Check, (ALL your accessories that came with your serger, your quick threading guide, screwdrivers, lint brush, cone holders, spool foam pads and/or thread nets if you need them for the threads you are bringing), Water soluble or Frixion marking pin, tweezers, etc.
