Machine Embroidery - Terry Towel 3/25/23

Join us this month to create a embroidered Terry Towel.  It is a simple project!  Techniques learned: Using Stabilizer, knowing which design to choose for Towels, use of software and toppers,  and placement of designs in your hoop/fabric.   We will be using a built in Monogram for this class.  We will help you select an appropriate one for you machine prior to class if you need it.

Supply List :

Embroidery machine and Embroidery Unit
Power cord
Embroidery Foot
5"x7" embroidery hoop  (130mm x 180mm)
Marking pen, such as a Frixion pen or water soluble marker
Wash Away, Sticky Back Stabilizer cut to fit your 5x 7 hoop (This is the one we used in the tee shirt class)
1 Prewound Bobbin wound with center pin OR a embroidery bobbin that you wound yourself

For the Design:  we will be using a built in monogram from your machine menu.  Most of you have the large alphabet like my sample in your machine. I will show you how to resize your design for hand towel size.
-Coordinating embroidery threads that match your towel and/or Design:  You will need main letter color, and floral colors for the rest of the design:  I used a light and dark shade of two different colors for the flowers and 2 shades of green for the leaves

-Good quality Terry Towel (We recommend Costco Hand size towel) If you have one on hand, that will be ok.  You want a solid color for this project.  I used white.

-Wash Away Topping like OESD H2O, Solvy, or Avalon by Madiera,etc.  It will be clear in color.  (Many of you got this time in bundles that came with your machines)
